Beautifully prepared and totally delicious! All 7 of us were delighted with our dinner entrees. Osso bucco got rave reviews--large portions, too! Red Snapper Livornese was so good, with olives and capers. Pasta was authentic and cooked perfectly. Salmon and seafood were enthusiastically consumed. House wine ok. Only one anonymous beer: "Italian birra". Tiramisu and espresso finished our memorable meal.
My husband and I were looking to find a quiet little, family run, Italian restaurant for dinner. When we walked in, there were plenty of tables with white linens, and even a baby grand piano in the corner.
The menu was lovely with all our favorites and much more. The food was delicious! Grouper with tomatoes, onions and olives, cooked to perfection! My husband had the spaghetti with lamb meatballs, all amazing!
The only unfortunate part for us was when the establishment ordered the large screen television turned on, along with the existing overhead music, then he added a phone playing a tv show with more loud music. It was overwhelming and my husband thought it to be rude. We deliberately avoided some of the more popular Italian spots due to the loud noise, televisions and difficulty in having a conversation during dinner.
Food and service and pricing was amazing, sensory overload not so much.
My wife and I had discussed going here for some time and we finally made it. It's a nice little place and the staff was very friendly.
I'll start by saying my Zuppa Di pesce was very good and the pasta was cooked perfect. Unfortunately that's the only good thing I can say.
It was nice that they served sliced bread. It would have been even nicer if it was fresh and even nicer if we didn't have to worry about pulling a tooth out pulling at the bread.
The calamari appetizer was a small portion for the money and sadly was very bland. Not much flavor at all.
My wife had the lasagna Bolognese. Very nice portion, but not very nice food. The dish was definitely not fresh. The noodles were very mushy, almost pasty and everything about it reminded us of reheated leftovers.
Perhaps if I drank more it would have been better, but I couldn't even do that. They did not serve Pinot noir wine and the other wines were ok at best. We each had one glass of an unknown pinot Grigio which was only worth having one glass.
Food was well prepared and delicious. Service was very lacking. Wait staff needs basic training in how to serve and treat customers .Went for dinner and the restaurant was not crowded. The food was brought to the table in a timely manner. The waiter did not come back to the table to ask if we were enjoying our meal. When we finished our meal he came to ask if we wanted dessert. We placed the order for dessert and coffee. To my utter dismay and shock he brings the dessert and was about to place it in the dirty fish and pasta dishes .THE TABLE WAS NOT CLEARED OF DISHES !!!!!!!! .The entree and pasta dishes along with dirty flat wear and bread basket was still on the table .WHO DOES THIS???????? I had to instruct him to clear table of dishes etc. before placing dessert and espresso on the table.
What a tragedy. I had to give this restaurant 5 stars because the preparation of the food was excellent. But PLEASE TRAIN YOU STAFF in rudimentary table service.Always clear the table before bringing the next course.Please next customer will not be as forgiving and will give you one star instead of the five stars you deserve
We came across this little gem by a google search. Looking for somewhere we haven't tried. The reviews were all very good and describing authentic Italian. I was craving a pasta sauce like mamma used to make and this is just what I got. It was delicious. The bread was served warm and scrumptious and the house Cabernet was very nice. The owners sat at a table near the window speaking Italian and being very friendly, gracious and welcoming to all their guests. The prices are very reasonable and it's a quaint little place with 10 or 15 tables. I was very happy to have found this place and highly recommend it .
Wow! What a surprise! I swear I thought it was closed because of no signage and the fact it is directly next door to another Italian restaurant-
Upon arrival, the owner, a 84 year old gentleman with a bum hip greeted with a smile and authentic accent. The place is sparse but clean, and the menu with prices from a bygone era was filled with Italian favorites!
Delicious bread, olives and Italian cheese wa swiftly brought to the table and our main courses were out in a jiffy with a smile, hot plate and aroma that made me feel like I was in mamas kitchen!
The pasta was beyond good and I must say, the lasagna was the best I ever had! Once the bill came I couldn't believe, dinner for two with wine and the 20 percent off for checking in with yelp was under 40 dollars!! Find this obscure hidden treasure right on US1 just north of Oakland!
Cafe Italia really has what you would call old school charm! It's not much to look at from the outside (obviously located in one of Florida's Endless strip malls) but it's what's inside that counts!
We randomly decided to check out Fabio, the Venician wine bar, but they had stopped serving food so we walked next door and low and behold we found something excellent.
Francesco, the owner introduced himself at the door with his charming Italian accent and gave us a few recommendations. I ordered the penne with shrimp and broccoli and my bf ordered the veal Marsala. Both of our dishes were outstanding and so flavorful. The prices were also very reasonable and our server was very friendly and accommodating. The ambiance was also very minimalistic, but charming and there was even a live piano player.

One of us had the snapper topped with mushrooms and tomatoes. The fish was cooked to the correct temperature and doneness, and the sauce/topping was light but flavorful. Another had the papperdella - wide pasta with a full-bodied but not overwhelming mushroom sauce. The mozzarella and tomato salad was perfect - the cheese was fresh with the buffalo type taste, and the tomatoes were flavorful and vine ripened. The homemade bread was excellent as well. Equally as important, each guest was made to feel as if they were individually important, and the service for the large party made it seem like each guest was an individual. This is a real hidden gem.

Word of mouth is how we learned about the place which is located on the ground floor of an office building. We were seated immediately and presented with a plate of excellent cheese and olives and outstanding fresh baked Italian style bread. The menu is somewhat limited with emphasis on pasta and seafood. I chose the veal Marsala dish and a side of angel hair pasta with garlic & olive oil. Very high quality, perfectly prepared veal and excellent pasta. My dining mate chose the pasta and shrimp served with a side salad. Wine by the glass is priced at $6 per. Total tab was $65 which was more then fair considering the quality of the ingredients.
